Akin 2019 Snowboard Jacket Men Burgundy
When high tech function meets elaborate design in a neat package, you get the Dope Akin. An overhead jacket that can outsmart even the toughest conditions. Akin is one of the few overhead jackets equipped with a snow skirt. So if you like to explore deep pow or tumble around a lot, Akin’ got your back! Oh, and the snow skirt is also detachable for those casual riding days. If the weather turns the Akin has a storm-proof hood to keep wind, cold and snow out. We also added 8 pockets, because you can never have too many pockets, right?

Insulated
Medium-weight insulation for perfect balance between warmth and performance (60gsm body, 40gsm sleeves and hood).
Tech
Dope DRYTECH Membrane
Dope DRYTECH membrane offers superior waterproofing and breathability through the use of hydrophilic membrane technology. Actively drawing moisture from the skin, the membrane keeps you dry even during intense sessions.

DRY Tech
Durable Water Repellent (DWR)
We equip all our fabrics with the PFC-free Bionic-Finish® ECO DWR treatment. Water beads right off instead of soaking in, meaning improved waterproofing and reduced moisture ingress even in severe weather conditions and deep powder.
Fully Taped Seams
We fully tape our seams to make sure water can't get in. The seams are the weakest point of any garment, so by using a special tape that makes them totally waterproof, you can ride in the deepest powder or the gnarliest storms with confidence.
Sorona Insulation
We use Sorona ECO insulation, which is made partially from renewable, plant-based fibres, and provides warmth-to-weight ratio for true all-day comfort.
Shell Fabric
Our shells are a 2-layer laminated fabric, with a super-tough woven outer, and our own Dope DRYTECH waterproof membrane underneath. A DWR treatment is then applied, providing great waterproofing, breathability, and resistance to wear in all situations (80,000 Martindale score minimum).

Thank you for this review, Gunnar! To be comfortable in all conditions, we recommend the multilayer principle. A long sleeve thermal underwear is an ideal base layer, you can also wear a fleece as a mid layer for colder day. You can adjust the thickness of those layers depending on the weather, while keeping in mind that the composition of the fabric will also impact the performance. The Akin shell is intelligently designed. The pockets, zipper logic, hood, powder skirt, overall fit, comfort, and technical fabric functioned excellent in every way. My snowboard season is finished, but I’m totally looking forward to next year. Thanks, your products are Dope!
