Dope Snow Yeti vs. Blizzard jacket. This battle of the pullovers has sparked debate among the mountain community since Dope Snow began. But how do you choose between these iconic jackets? Find out with our full rundown below.

The Blizzard and Yeti are as iconic as two styles get. They’re firmly in the ‘OG’ camp and have been stalwart jackets in the lineup since the very beginning – and they only get better every year!
When looking at these two jackets, it can be tricky to spot the key differences… They’re both pullovers, after all. But don’t worry. We’re here to break them down and compare their best features so you can choose the perfect setup for you. So, let’s drop in to our ultimate showcase and showdown.
Part of our Riding Hoodie collection, the Yeti is a stylish softshell, perfect for shredding spring slopes and soaking up the end-of-season sun. Yep, milder conditions, sunny park laps, slush runs, and sun-filled après are Yeti’s jam. The Yeti also never looks out of place off the mountain, either.
Blizzard is more of an all-mountain beast, handling most conditions all season long. This jacket is super durable, lightweight, and best for those looking to push their riding while staying quick on their feet.
The Yeti is a full-on softshell riding hoodie. It’s laid-back, comfy, and ready to hit the park or slushy sidehits. The Blizzard, though, is what happens when a riding hoodie and a fully-featured ski jacket collide. The result is a workhorse with the specs and capabilities of all-mountain outerwear wrapped in a hoodie-inspired design.
The Yeti and Blizzard both feature relaxed fits and zipless, pullover designs. Not really your vibe? The Blizzard is also available as a full-zip with a regular fit.
With zero insulation, the Yeti is perfect for warmer temps and sun-blinding laps. The bonded fabric has a soft, medium-weight fleece liner for reliable comfort. Want to wear your Yeti on colder days? Size up and wear base layers and a midlayer underneath. But what if you want something warmer?
The Blizzard pullover is available in two insulation choices. The insulated version offers 60/40gsm Fellex® insulation for an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, while our shell-only Blizzard is insulation-free, ideal for sunny spring sessions and for those who like to layer up.
The Yeti and Blizzard are made with our waterproof, breathable DRY Tech fabric (15,000mm/ 15,000g). This provides a reliable barrier against rain and snow, with next-level breathability and effective moisture management.
Both jackets enhance waterproofing with a PFAS-free DWR treatment and zipless construction. However, the Blizzard slightly one-ups the Yeti with fully taped seams. So, with the Blizzard, you can ride with complete confidence, even when it’s nuking. Without taped seams, the Yeti isn’t quite so equipped for storm riding.
The Blizzard pullover is fully loaded with a microfleece chinguard, wrist gaiters, and a drawstring hem for a customised fit. In contrast, the Yeti is more minimal, but still has everything you need, including a lift pass pocket and wrist gaiters. Though both designs sacrifice a snow skirt to champion bulk-free, lightweight performance.
Both jackets have adjustable hoods (two-point adjustment for Blizzard and one-point for Yeti) and zippered underarm vents for quick heat dumping. You’ll also find an easy-access media pocket and roomy front pockets, too…Chairlift snacks, anyone?
The Yeti and Blizzard are two iconic pullovers serving different purposes. Yes, both have a laid-back, oversized design and tons of on-mountain functionality. However, the Blizzard is a weather-sealed fully-fledged riding jacket for all conditions and offers more versatility with a full-zip version. Meanwhile, the Yeti is better suited to heated sessions (temperature-wise), chilled laps (exertion-wise), and everyday wear.
Okay, neither the Yeti nor Blizzard is made for deep snow and backcountry missions. However, either choice is awesome for regular resort riding… And for showing off that classic Dope Snow style. Oh, and don’t forget to showcase your look in our Dope Snow Community Facebook Group, full of snow-stoked, style-serving riders!
