Biography
Sanni Oksanen grew up riding at her local hill, Sappee. She skied at first, but watching her friends snowboard and move with a different kind of flow pulled her in. That Christmas, she asked for a snowboard and never looked back. Now based in Ruka, Sanni rides for the quiet moments. Places like Saariselkä, where it’s calm, the snow piles up, and you can have the forest to yourself. Snowboarding is where everything slows down for her, especially on long, quiet trails. When she’s not riding, she’s usually outside anyway, hiking, ski touring, cross-country skiing, hitting the sauna, cold plunging, or hanging out with friends. She also works as a content creator, sharing stories that revolve around winter, nature, and finding balance in a busy world.
“Snowboarding, especially on quiet forest trails, feels like time just slows down and that solitude is something I really need. The world is a crazy place, so it’s important to find things that let you forget everything for a little while.”– Sanni Oksanen
